The Jurassic Coast Trust’s Dinosaur Sleepover returns to Dorset Museum in Dorchester for October Half Term!
These ever-popular family events feature an evening of fun and varied activities led by our Jurassic Coast experts, plus a film and breakfast, and the chance to spend the night in this beautiful and historic museum in the heart of Dorchester.

Tickets:
£25.00 per person for both adults and children (5 or over*), discounted for JCT Members.
We recommend that this event is ideally suitable for children aged 6-12 years.
Your ticket includes hot chocolate and biscuits in the evening, breakfast in the morning, and tea and coffee for the grown-ups. With some refreshments being supplied courtesy of Dorset Tea
*If you are bringing a child under the age of 5, then there is no charge, but they will not be able to participate in actiities and each child must be accompanied by an adult.
Timings:
Entry to the museum at 5:45pm then activities until 8:40pm, then a two-hour film.
Breakfast starting at 7am and finishing by 8:30am.
Group activities will involve:
- Fun Silent Disco (downstairs in the Victorian Hall) - sponsored by Dorset Tea
- Fossil polishing - prepare and take your own fossil home
- Tour of the Natural Dorset Gallery which include fossil handling
- Jurassic Story Time
Sleeping arrangements:
All attendees bring a sleeping bag and roll mat/air mattress and sleep in either the Victorian Hall or Learning areas of the museum.
Details:
This event is recommended for children aged 6-12 years, and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. We ask that parents and carers please use discretion when booking your tickets to decide if the event is appropriate for your children. Any questions please contact us.
